Online Seeing Stars Instruction with In-Person Results

James came to us in the spring of his 6th grade year. At the time, his mother was on the verge of pursuing an out-of-district placement, despite James having many close friends at his current school. Her hope was that, through Lindamood-Bell, he could remain in his community and finally feel confident in his reading.

When he began instruction, James was more than a little resistant. We knew building trust would take time, but our clinicians remained committed - forming meaningful connections and strong rapport, even through a computer screen.

Fast forward 200 hours of online Seeing Stars instruction... by the end of his program, now in 7th grade, Jack was reading 9th-grade-level material. On his final day, he wiped away tears saying goodbye to his clinicians, sharing that he felt “emotional, but happy and proud.”

James's mom shared that this is the first year of his entire schooling experience where teachers have called or emailed her with positive feedback, rather than concerns. She wrote:

"We are so pleased with his progress, and the feedback at his recent parent-teacher conference was the best it’s ever been. His attitude, his confidence—everything is just so much better! Thank you for all the help and guidance during this process, and a HUGE thank you to all your staff for being so patient, accommodating, and understanding of him and his needs."

Stories like James’s are a powerful reminder that the magic of learning isn’t confined to the walls of our Learning Centers. We’re incredibly fortunate that the same connection, trust, and transformation we foster in person can transcend location and be delivered through online instruction.
